Since her initial formation, Jade tried to keep herself in one piece, despite the difficulty. She would enter severe episodes of emotional despondency, or spend long periods masking intense frustration with formality while seeking to control circumstances around her.
After four months, the center could no longer hold, and Jadesprite and Harbinger Silverbark split out of Jade. Jadesprite took a large swath of Jade's fear and depression, as well as her emotional fragility.
As the only system member that's a little, being 13, she carries a lot of the system's anxieties from adolescence and feels overwhelmed by the expectations adults placed on the system as it was growing up. This manifests, largely, in two ways. Jadesprite feels like she's not as smart as adults insisted the system was, and she feels like she's helpless when it comes to keeping housed and fed, both as herself and the system writ large.
When speaking, she's very quiet and meek. There is sometimes a quiver in her voice, as she tries to hold back crying.
