Phillip /ˈfɪlɪp/

Phillip Adams /ˈfɪlɪp ˈæd.əmz/

Phillip is alphy's former cohost, and is the part of the original host self that was content in the gender, or lack thereof, they had growing up. They hold the pretransition memories alphy doesn't. They went into stasis after alphy decided to transition, and the two theorize that the initial crack between them happened in their teens.

Phillip was most influenced by the way the system was raised to prioritize work and income over all else. They felt that if they followed the rules as laid out for them by school and adults in their life, they would survive and be able to take care of themself.

Because of the reaction to alphy's transition, Phillip went into stasis, unable to handle the backlash. They only came out of stasis in 2021, broken from how society treated the system. Due to alphy's affinity for the tabletop role-playing games of Jenna Moran, it and Phillip figured and they're a Lord of Rule, made a Mimic, broken and corrupt and wrong.

Initially, Phillip went by Parker. They wanted to go by the body's deadname upon awakening from stasis but, due to alphy's anxiety and fear, it kept them from doing so. This changed in the summer of 2022, as alphy has adapted more to saying and hearing that name in other contexts. Additionally, Karkat helped alphy become more comfortable with system members using he/him pronouns, so Phillip took those on as a secondary set.

Phillip seldom fronts, but is around to help remember things from the system's childhood. They will front sometimes if alphy is unable to due to stress or trauma, but isn't able to handle the body's disabilities as well as it. When they are fronting, they're nonverbal. Nine originated as a part of them.
