alphy /ˈælfiː/

alphy is the host of ⌈tautology⌋, splitting from phillip sometime in their teens and becoming sole host when it began transitioning. it holds more than half the system's pretransition memories. its name is always spelt in lowercase.

while it used to be consistently frontstuck, often cofronting with or transcribing for other headmates, alphy became forcibly unstuck in the summer of 2022. karkat was the first headmate outside of the fionna subsystem to front without alphy. it is still the most frequent fronter, as host. its emotions can also overwhelm whoever is in front and force it back into the metaphorical driver's seat.

it, and other members of its subsystem, are best-suited for handling the body's chronic pain and other disabilities. it walks with a cane, and is the only member of the subsystem depicted wielding it.
